Description
Basic Slinging Loads is the introductory course for anyone who wants to pursue a career as a Dogman and/or Crane Operator.
It's the prerequisite for the following:
3800 - Overhead Gantry Crane
16617 - Truck Loader Crane
20208 - Self-Erecting Tower Crane
3789 - Dogman
Course Objectives
Once you've successfully completed the course, the attendee will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of hazards, hazard control, and lift planning.
Demonstrate knowledge of lifting gear and working load limit (WLL) tables.
Preparation for, and slinging regular loads safely.
Correct selection and use of rigging equipment, knots and dunnage.
Important note: All unit standards are awarded by EarnLearn-Te Pukenga.
Other Requirements
Lifting equipment must be certified when carrying out the practical components of the assessment.
All students need to provide photo identification, either drivers licence or passport on the day.
A room big enough for all the students to sit & do the written part of the assessment.
